Successes in our first 3 years

Minds Ahead launched in 2017. Here are some of the successes of our first 3 years:

Deepening partnership as our ongoing work as founding partner in the Carnegie Centre of Excellence of Mental Health in Schools. This year we have supported research, launched new services and reached more schools with this innovative partnership

1200+ schools & colleges using the Mental Health in Schools Quality Award designed and developed by Minds Ahead

1850+ teachers, support staff, educational leaders, governors attended our programmes

180 Masters Credits: Minds Ahead prepared for validation and subsequently designed the UK’s first Masters for school leadership of mental health and wellbeing

First Graduates: Masters in School Leadership of Mental Health! 2020 sees the first set of school leaders attain their postgraduate status in educational mental health leadership

Largest cohort of new school leaders working towards masters status: another 2 cohorts have now started with over 50 school leaders in total

Preparation complete for a new course – the School Mental Health Specialist: research and validation completed now ready for launch!

2 powerful patrons: former Health Minister Norman Lamb MP and former NHS England lead for Mental Health Dr. Geraldine Strathdee OBE agreed to be Patrons of Minds Ahead.

320 delegates attended our annual conferences with Leeds Beckett University

86+ days of workshops for school leaders working on mental health

8 international programmes and events for school leaders across the Middle East

4 design projects delivered for external customers: 

  • School Mental Award for Leeds Beckett University

  • Leading and Mentally Healthy school programme for the Teaching Schools Council

  • Mental Health Training for Tiney, an early years childcare service

  • Bloom, a new national programme that teachers can deliver to young people
